Richard Yeakley

Richard Yeakley serves as the Public Information Officer for the City of Longview, Texas. His tasks include engaging with members of the media, working with members of the City Council and Executive Team, and managing the City’s primary social media accounts.

A recovering print reporter, Richard joined the City of Longview in 2019 as a multimedia specialist focused primarily on social media and website management. During the subsequent three years, Richard has led the primary Facebook account of his City to triple in audience size and increase in engagement year over year. Richard is a member of the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Strategic Communications and Innovation from Texas Tech University.

When not at work, Richard spends time with his wife and two-year old triplets. He serves as a deacon as part of his local church and is a member of Theatre Longview, the city’s community theatre organization, and Duck. Duck. Moose! Improv Comedy team.

Richard is passionate about the work of government social media managers and empowering the community to excel in serving their constituents.
