Sara Smith leads FEMA’s Social Listening and Analytics team in the Office of External Affairs. She has more than eight years of experience building one of the most comprehensive social listening programs in the Federal government. Working across divisions and offices, Sara’s team strives to provide actionable insights and identify information gaps, leading to more engaging and thoughtful messaging during critical moments. Sara has also spent time in the private sector helping Fortune 500 companies better understand how or when to engage in divisive or complex online conversations. Sara is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with others and helping them use social listening to improve strategic communications and engagement.
